RedLaser product views by day: RedLaser is primarily used on the weekends, when people flock to stores to make big purchases, like electronics and appliances. Tons of our users, however, still see RedLaser as part of their week-day shopping routine, in trips to the grocery store and gas station.
RedLaser product views (local time): We took our product view data, and localized the time (so we’re comparing 1PM in New York to 1PM in Los Angeles). RedLaser is most heavily used between noon and 5PM — which surprised us! Since this data covers all days of the week, we thought we’d see more activity after typical working hours.
This probably partially reflects that 45% of our users report using RedLaser to shop from home or the office — not just when they’re in a store. This is made possible by our powerful keyword and image search features, which provide access to our catalog of prices.
